Not exactly the same thing, but on forums (not this one) I've never seen either side of a HOTLY contested political debate give in and say "You know, I think you're right and I'm wrong - I'm switching sides now." This is true for every GW debate I've read too. I've come to the conclusion that no matter what the evidence, believers cannot be convinced otherwise and will not change, and it's almost a waste of effort to try. I think they have to change on their own.

I salute those who can maintain a long debate with believers.
