How about plot-specific parking? I was watching Mazes and Monsters this afternoon, and these people could park in front of whatever building they wanted--in Manhattan. I'm fairly sure they got a parking spot in front of the World Trade Center. (Tom Hanks was going to throw himself off the top for reasons that don't actually make sense.)

Not only that, but you get the obligatory "walking through New York looking very alone" shot.
