so you might want to coordinate with him so only one of you puts
too much effort into this.
Yes, it is the 166 MHz machine. I've been offered a used 600 MHz
machine, but it hasn't materialized yet.
The info on my CD player says it does RW. I've only burned CD-R,
and don't know that I've ever put a CD-RW in it. The thing cannot
recognize the majority of audio CDs I stick in.
I've been given to understand that I can't do DirectX 9 on this
machine / OS. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool says I have 6.1a.
What I'd really like to see is some indication of when any DirectX
function is ever used. If it turned out that it is only ever used in
web advertisements (or never at all), I'd get rid of it completely.
From the names of the functions in the Windows Registry, I can
see that many have never been used. Possibly none of them.
