I personally think the universe is expanding but not in the way that it has been suggested. Time should be a factor in our equations. If we look back in time we are seeing events that took place millions or billions of years ago. A Redshift seen in the 19th Century could have well been a Blue one in present time due to the wavelengths decreasing over time. And thats the whole basis for the expansion theory. We have since however noticed that Galaxies seem to be moving apart which may suggest expansion? I dont want to hijack Dryans conversation so if you wish to look further my theory on that is also in my threads. The current mainstream thinking is based on two events, one being the observation in the 19th century and the second on Redshift. Which I think both may fall into question.
