And intersting discovery was made about animal behaviour when a spider was filmed making its web. The heat of the film lamps dried up the spider's web fluid, but the spider kept performing web making motions despite nothing coming out. From this they were able to deduce that spiders are stupid.
Okay, it was more about how arthropods often carry out what appear to be preprogrammed sequences of behaviour. Mammals do it too, but are a bit less blatent about it.
