So GM (General Motors) workers go on strike in the US (and so hence Canada, but I can't say about elsewhere).

This is all fine, except that my wife is now off work because of it, with no pay, and she doesn't work for GM

She works for a division of Magna, which supplies parts.

I'm glad we're not struggling to get by from paycheck to paycheck. It would really suck to lose your house because someone else goes on strike
