I think this view is uncharitable. It is not the size of the lie that is important to them, because, to them it is
not a lie. It is a deeper truth, that non-believers cannot perceive. It is only by believing that you can see the truth, and with that comes a feeling of joy and contentment. All is right with the world. It is as HE wishes it to be.
The fact that it
is untrue is only apparent to non-believers.
