Pareidolia is not "wishing what one wants to see". Pareidolia is not even seeing what one wants to see. I could look at a cloud and see an elephant in it; it doesn't mean I
want to see an elephant; it means that the shape of the cloud makes me think "hey, that kinda looks like an elephant". The difference between your definition and the true definition might sound small, but is quite significant.
