mag 16.8--darn, no way I'll see it!

I have seen one nova, Nova Vulpecula 2007 (in our own galaxy), in 11x70 binoculars, mag 9 if I remember right. I don't know if it's still there or not. This was under skies less light polluted than here in Bowie--the milky way was visible--but still in viewing distance of the Baltimore glow.
