The static stituation was quite a problem for the Apollo 12 crew when they were setting up the ALSEP package. They were required to place covers about some of the experiments to shaded the base of them, but the material would levitate above the ground due to the replusion of the charged material and ground. In the the end thay had to use rocks to hold the shade covers down.
