I find that I've never really been concerned about other peoples' bowels. Well, maybe with exception of Kaptain K, who I trust is doing OK post-operation.

I do tend to be concerned as to whether or not my bacon has been properly cured, hopefully with a touch of hickory or maple.

On the other hand (besides five greasy fingers), plain bacon seems to work best in BLTs.

For the anti-bacon folks, I recommend a viewing of the "Scrap Iron Chef" episode of Good Eats.
