Except for the "tail" part, I'd also suggest an iridium flare. They can reach magnitudes of -9. There is nothing in the sky that bright except for the Moon, the Sun, and the occasional meteor. But according to your account it was moving way too slow for a meteor. So, either plane/helicopter or iridium flare.
