I didn't mean for that to come off completely dismissive. Only partially dismissive. Those blurbs are written by editors and publishers to sell the book. If you have something new and interesting in the book, you emphasize that new and interesting thing in order to differentiate yourself from the competition. If the marketing blurb says nothing more than what we can get already from Percy or Rene or Jack White, then what's the point? The blurb mentions no arena of evidence that hasn't already been done to death.
