This is caused, in part, by me.

Linkbacks are moderated, I guess because they put a link to an external page on the site, but no one seems to have done the actual moderation of them since July.

I went through a couple of thousands of them over the last couple of hours, mainly the ones that could very easily be dismissed but also some that got validated, which apparently caused the notifications you received.
There's still about two thousand I haven't looked at yet, but I'll take a break until we hear if there's something that can be done about the unwanted notifications.
