You used:

Instead of:

http://image.guim.co.uk/sys-images/T...life_2_460.jpg

So the software displays the whole URL:
You had too many http on the beginning.

It could be, but should not be, inserted as an in-line image with [img][/img] tags. It's not fair to guim.uk's bandwidth. (See rules: 8. Hotlinking Try to avoid putting in links to images directly from someone else's website.)
