ok, the O'Neill cylinder, and the Stanford torus are definitely something I will look into more, however I was thinking of something a tad smaller, using inflatable units. The ring idea is on par, but the scale is a touch excessive.
I am looking for something that could be achieved in 20 years if funding wasn't an issue and the science for it has to be solid.
