Indeed, I feel that too much is made of the issue of "contradiction", when in fact each theory loses applicabillity in some regime. It makes no real difference if the two theories contradict or agree in the realm of overlap, it only matters if either or both have left their realm of applicability. They could both agree and both be inaccurate, or they could disagree and both be way off, or disagree and have one continue to apply when the other breaks down. The real issue is, does any theory apply in all situations and at all scales? Why would we think that they would?
