Who said anything about lack of visceral experiences?
Everything sensation you have already occures
inside your brain. It is all heavily processed interpretation of whatever nerve signals your sense organs send you. If what SkepticJ describes becomes possible at all, then simulating pretty much any real-life sensory experience should be a snap.
