Can I ask a 'What if..?' If there's an objection I'll move it over to the Q&A section.
Some time back I read about the 'colliding Branes' theory versus the BBT in SA magazine (I think) They spoke of Branes causing a massive 'explosion' of spacetime which became our universe, thus giving some of the answers to observations that appear to suggest a BB type event.
It occurred to me that maybe the Branes didn't so much collide as merge. And maybe the merge is continuing. It seems to me that this could give us a universe that expands everywhere as the 2 Branes occupy the same location & maybe even provide the Inflation event as well as the more recent (IIRC) boost in expansion that we have observations that are suggesting.
If the 2 spacetimes are in a merger process we could see matter being created as part of the process so there'd be no central void, the 2 spaces could be intermixing to provide the expansion & maybe other effects could give us Cause for the things we observer. To my thinking it might also explain the evenness of the CMB, as the initial event could have happened everywhere at once rather than from a central point.
Just asking if it's a feasibility...
