In one of the earlier posts I saw a comment about 2D vs 3D universe - something like 'we don't live in a 2D universe'
I thought there was some idea going around that maybe we DO live in a 2D cosmos. I read about the ultimate observable density being the event horizon around a black hole & that the math for that is area-based not volume.
IIRC they'd done calculations also on information storage using hypothetical 3D chips & found a correspondence between where the math broke down from 3D calculations & the mass needed to form a black hole.
So wouldn't it be possible that we are holograms in a holo-world, like self-aware Princess Leia's looking around us in our hologram world & not seeing the real room in which the holo is being played?
Note it could also provide an explanation for dark energy & dark matter - Holo-Leia could test her world all she liked & could see strange results for how the light-electrons & light atoms behaved in her world but never really be able to reach outside the holo to see the electrical fields or gravity of Luke's world that was causing the effects.
In the same way, if we're in a holo-cosmos we'd be unable to see the 'real' cosmos of which we are a reflection & have to come up with all kinds of strange theories to explain why things don't behave as the math says they should.
But it would provide a new set of possibilities for Universe expansion as well. *grins* Maybe 'someone' got an appropriation for an increase in the VR experiment & boosted the 'memory space' by adding a couple of dimensions?
Hopefully not too off-topic...
