I hate to interject myself in this so late, and I have read most of the thread, but exactly what idea are you looking to reference? I ask because I'm currently reading Susan Wise Bauer's
The History of the Ancient World and just got past the Exodus.
Ms. Bauer does explicitly state that
no mention of the Exodus appears in Egyptian chronicles, but I think you were looking for something a bit different?
