WHo knows ... maybe god does exist after all ... I am not sure that it is the idea of God that I dont understand or rather the fact that why would a god would care about what every individual human did or wether it was happy or sad in its afterlife.

A thinking being as large as a solar system.

Such a large entity would think very slowly, as there might be time delays of several minutes between one side of the object to another (due to light speed). Would such a single entity suffer from 3rdvogon's suggested lack of innovation and inspiration? Possibly; although with such a large mind, even an uninspired MB might be far more innovative than any human society.

Would such a large artifical entity count as life? That would depend on the definition- but it would certainly share many of the characteristics of living organisms.
