Hello everyone,
My name is Kathy and I have two children, a beautiful 3 year old and a pain in the rear 35 year old (well ok-HE'S my main man). I'm a 32 year old student in New Mexico. Yes, we have great skies for viewing. I'm currently working on my BS in microbiology and biochemistry, for 4 years now. Only 4 more to go! Anyways, it's nice to meet you all. I used to love stargazing and anything astronomy and/or marine biology, well anything science based. But alas, life changes as due peoples interests and now my 3 year old loves the stars. We are now working as a family unit to rediscover the stars, so to speak. When I'm not studying or parenting I try to enjoy some reading of just about every subject, fiction and non-fiction. My favorite author is Piers Anthony, but right now I am reading Microbe Hunters by Paul De Kruif. Another hobby of mine is the journal club at my university where we read, analyze and criticize scientific papers from all the sciences to improve (Hopefully) our current understanding of the developing sciences of the past, current, and future. What a mouthful, anyways it's something like that. So if anybody knows of a good paper, please let me know! Hope to be learning tons of astronomy soon, my son's very inquisitive (sp?).
