I'm curious if anyone measured the sky from say, Times Square. I suppose that is perhaps magnitude -1 or -2 on a normal night ( of course when you talk about Times Square, you have to use a very loose definition of normal). I know that from Central Philadelphia the skies are perhaps magnitude 1 (you can see Orion's Belt and a few other stars, but that's about it.
