You sound like my grandmother. She saw part of an episode of Star Trek once. This is the conversation that resulted:
Grandma: "Who is that guy, and why does he have those bumps on his forehead?"
Me: "Oh, that's Worf. He's an alien."
Grandma: "Tsk, that's just silly."
It's called "fantasy", it's not like it's trying to pretend to be a documentary. You'll miss out on a lot of fun movies if you limit yourself to just the ones that are strictly bound by realism.
