It appears the UFO OFFICER is probably from the FTD (Foreign Technology Division) and supposedly one was at every base. Of course, the Air Force does not study UFO's.

So why was this classified to begin with? To cover up stupidity? Watch the video below and take into account all the facts they go over. Thanks and enjoy.

So why was the audio transcript classified at all? Also, doesnt this prove that the Air Force has been lying when it says it does not investigate UFO's and that they are not a threat?
If I recall correctly, this is the Edwards AFB incident back in 1965.
UFO officers were common during the bluebook era, which is when this incident supposedly happened and, at that time, the AF did investigate UFO events. Therefore, you claim that they were lying when they did not investigate UFOs is false. Each base had a UFO officer to deal with UFO reports made. It was part of the system that had been developed. When bluebook went away, the UFO officers did too.

As far as "UFO officers" being part of FTD, that is not exactly correct. At one point bluebook may have been part of the FTD/ATIC but that changed as bluebook became a political nightmare. By the mid-1960s, the staff at bluebook was pretty small. I believe it was headed by a Major and had one sergeant as well as a few secretaries by then. My guess (based on my past experience in the military) is many of the base UFO officers were officers filling the position because somebody had to be the "UFO officer" on base. I would not be surprised that some of them were "the new guy" who had reported recently and got stuck with it until another "new guy" showed up. The amount of training they probably received was minimal. Some probably took their job seriously and others may have chose to be complacent.

UFO incidents got classified for many reasons and maybe not for the reasons suggested by these videos. You can speculate all you want but if the AF were to say it was classified because of a classified project, you would not believe them anyway so what is the point of asking the question? You already have the answer you want. It may not be the right answer but it is the one you choose to believe.

BTW, despite claims to the contrary by UFO groups, no UFO has been positively shown to have posed a threat to any military installation. In this case nothing was ever threatened or destroyed.
