Clear and correct communication helps you get your message across; not only by making it easier to understand your message but also to show that you have put more thought into your post than stream-of-consciousness meandering.

Poorly formatted, written, and ungrammatical posts can also be taken as contempt for the reader, as it can be taken as saying that the writer's time is more important that all of the readers' time.

Unless your target audience is illiterate teens, for whom correct grammar is anathema and slang acronyms are de rigueur.
