I personally have no opinion on that matter, no pun intended. Physics is a model of the universe, and is "correct" only to the extent that it makes useful predictions that agree with observation. If you can develop a theory in which matter curves with space-time, and find that it is useful in predicting and explaining observations beyond that of what current theories are capable, then your question becomes meaningful to me.
