There is some controversy over this, starting with how, exactly, Bode's Law should be interpreted. A weak version of the law is that in a stable solar system the major planets clearly cannot orbit too close to each other, but this is a very watered down version of the Titius-Bode Law. The specific inversely proportional relation they proposed, which worked for the planets that were known at the time, breaks down for Neptune, which was discovered later.
