I just ordered the Linksys WRT54GL yesterday. The L in GL stands for linux, as it has linux firmware on it, and you can replace the firmware with custom linux firmware. The custom firmware turns the router into the equivalent of a high end corporate firewall/router, and allows you to tweak just about every setting imaginable, from boosting your wireless output, to increasing security. Best of all, everything is configured through your web browser, so no knowledge of linux is required.

Since it's a networking device, it will work with your mac without issue. Any of the routers will actually.

Hope that helps!
