Woah... Old topic. It was absolutely not an iridium flare, I have seen an iridium flare before. This was something that blinked on and off, for a long time, and stayed in the same place, unlike an iridium flare which gets very bright briefly as it moves across the sky.

That was a long time ago that I saw it, but I still have no idea what it is...
