Itīs not pointless. You could try this way:
Why is the speed of light ~300,000 km/s? Because the permeability of the vaccum determines that.
But why does the vaccum permit only that, and not, say, 400,000 km/s?
Those are fundamental questions of qualitative nature, and scientific knowledge is about quantifications. And hereīs the Mother of all qualitative questions: Why did the universe come to be?
