The data is the arrival of high energy cosmic rays here on Earth. Current theory tells us that they must be coming from somewhere close by. That's all we know at this point.
We don't know where it's coming from,
because we haven't looked yet.
We don't even know if it's coming from a point object, or a distributed source, because, again,
we haven't tried to find out yet.
