And there was a tether for the tool-box, but somehow, what with a grease gun exploding during their spacewalk preperations, and the challenges of, you know, floating around as your own spacecraft, checking oxygen, CO2, temperature, tools, tethers, timelines, not grabbing anything sharp, checking gloves, visor down, lights off, and a suit so hard to move around in you end up straining your fingers to the point of exteme pain....

somehow, they just managed to have one tether work itself loose and a bag of tools got away.
