If you follow to the MD article, It makes sense. There's information on what one looks like and how to check it.
But; in the linked transposed version, they couldn't even get NHTSA right.

But the end result is that an expensive problem (mostly time) is covered by a free replacement of a pennys' part. Worse than a lifetime brakepad warranty.
