Why is this photo a question mark, which lends credence to a hoax? I don't see it. Is it because it
may look like a boot print? Is that the argument? It
could also look like part of the old PanAm logo, but, it's not. I don't get it....

Are you quite certain that this image shows a fracture as you describe? Couldn't it be simply a direct impression of the mylar wrapped pad, as it bounced along before coming to a rest?
