I have to retract my earlier calculation. There is a typo in CFH on the first page where the value of M
5 is given as 10
-27 instead as 10
-24 kg. This threw my calculations off by a factor of 5 orders of magnitude. So the correct time for an mBH to grow to 1 kg (assuming Hawking radiation is switched off) is ~10,000 years, instead of 1 month. Enough time to evacuate the entire Earth!
