Since we have never had any concrete evidence of a spaceship other than imagination, I don't think you can draw too many conclusions.
Spinning metallic sparkly lighted blinking craft look good on a movie screen, so that is common.
What makes you believe this is the way it works? Or better yet, how does it work?
What NASA maglev stuff, and what application?
