On of the reasons I heard the rather cool, but completely impractical, Avro Aircar didn't work, was it was very unstable out of ground effect. Would spinning it help stability for a similar craft? This would be very nauseous for any passenger or pilot, but what if central cockpit was counter rotating?
It's a thought.
