Indeed. In 1977 I could do ALL the maintenance (including removing the engine) on my '69 micro bus by myself. My 2004 xterra I can't even
identify most of the parts on the engine.
Suggesting that the technology has not changed in 100 years is at best disingenuous. It has made HUGE leaps just in the last 30 years.
