LOL, well at least the Trek tradition of using time travel as a plot device is still alive.

I don't think it was new faces...overall the main actors did a great job (within the script) of capturing the characters. The special effects were indeed quite good, although the new warp sound still bugs me.

I just think that you'll have different expectations from different people on what a Star Trek movie should "feel" like. This was a good action movie that took from Star Trek history, but it didn't feel Trek to me. I did like how it gave a more realistic touch to the surroundings, and I was okay with the shaky cam approach. Maybe it was that it felt rushed for the action, and not so much time for showing more of the character depth.

Was the old Star Trek more dialogue/monologue driven maybe, where this was one liners and flashy screenshots?
