Jim, Hale Bopp went below the horizon here in early April 1997 as I recall. I only took photos of Hale Bopp in "full bloom" so to speak in '97.
I only use a 35mm camera, not a telescope. If it wasn't Hyakutake, there was something else fuzzy up there.
Thanks, I did use that jpl site looking for images on Hyakutake tho. Lots of images, but nothing looked identifiable to me. I appreciate you looking in for me.
