Actually the teleportation of states is technically possible, but it would take much more energy to acheive than it would provide in drive energy. So you might as well beam electromagnetic energy directly to the ship concerned, which could be collected and used in an ion drive; or better still, propel the ship directly by reflection, using a laser/maser and a light sail or magsail.
or use massive particles in a
beamrider arrangement.
