I looked at the mirrors link and it is clear to me, as someone who works with radiative transfer (light) every day, that this person does not know what he is talking about. I don't have time right now to go into all that's wrong with this one topic, but I will tonight.

He's another good example of the hoax proponent deception. From the link,

If you go to the Astronomy Picture of the Day site and Read the caption, it clearly states that this is an illustration and not a photo. Deceptive.

Later he does state that it is a computer generated image, but that's artistic license.
