Just the place for me to bring up my concerns about giving one search engine too much of a monopoly. Think how much power a search engine really has? Have you ever wanted a science topic and got products for sale instead? About 3 pages in you get to the actual thing you were looking for.

How many of you even go past the first page 50% of the time? 75%? 99%? 1 %?

Think of the influence that search has on our access to information. Not that Google has gone bad or anything, but we should be vigilent. I see Google still has it's competetors on a search page for search engines. From there I found this directory of engines that looks useful.

I thought I might try to use a variety of engines just to keep the power of controlling what you read and see from being too concentrated.

Anyone use TEOMA? I haven't used it in a while but was thinking of comparing it to Google the next time I get product sales pages when I wanted product research pages.
