I paid $2.15 USD for regular unleaded the other day, and that's at one of the cheaper stations, not Texaco, Shell, et al. I'm glad my VW requires regular unleaded. I have never paid close to this amount in the 12 years I've been in Houston. I liked it when my tank was $14.00 USD to fill up, now it's a bit over $28.00 USD.
They always raise it pre-summer, but this is ridiculous. The last time gas prices went high here in Houston, the Houston Chronicle, for instance, raised their subscription rates, "due to transportation/delivery costs, because of the increase in fuel." When the gas prices went down, did my subscription rate go down? Of course not. Now the airlines are complaining too.
Well, if everyone bought Honda Civic stick-shifts, they'd get the most miles per gallon.

Let's see what other consumer prices go up because of this.
