Speaking of astronomers on the BBC. I saw an episode of The Late Edition late last night (I think it was a really old repeat). It stars Marcus something, a comedian, giving his take on current affairs, including a delightful bit of satire about the citizenship test. They had Colin Pillinger on asking him about the failure of Beagle 2 and they also brought on a "fan space scientist" who wanted to meet Prof Pillinger and ask him about his advice when it comes to their moon probe. Apparently, they were having problems getting the speed up because they could jump on the springboard hard enough. But they did come up with a solution to avoid Beagle 2's fate of getting lost by fitting a million mile dog leash to their moon probe.
