I believe he has somewhat "disowned" the final film, saying that the director changed a lot of what he wrote - he certainly didn't have the creative control here he had on
Firefly or even
Buffy. Still, his name is the only one on the "Written By" credit (except for a "Characters" credit for the writers of the original
Alien).
