Hi there -
Here's a free tip for you: if you want users to find your forum threads much more easily on search engines such as Google, then harmonise your links to your forum.
At the moment the forum software links to itself using the URL:
http://www.universetoday.com/forum/index.php
However, in the nav bar, your forum is being linked by the URL:
http://www.universetoday.com/forum/
Google and co. will actually therefore read the two URLs as two different pages, and assign a different importance to each according to how well they are linked to.
In short that means that if you were to link from your navbar using the URL:
http://www.universetoday.com/forum/index.php then Google wouldn't think there are two pages of differing importance - just 1 page of particular importance.
If you like the idea of people finding your threads on the search engines, then it's a useful thing to do. :0
A free tip, btw.
I actually just started up an internet marketing company, but I figure it would be bad form to post a personal promotional link, so I'll just leave the tip as that. Any questions, feel free to ask.
