Theories should come AFTER initial observations and NOT before. They must not only be falsifiable, but actually be based on evidence (rather than forumulated and the propped up by one or two observations).
I know I'm getting caught up here, so please forgive me if this has already been addressed. One could argue the Chicken vs. Egg line of reaoning here, but I must still think the theory comes first (sorry Kashi). A perfect examle of this would be Steven Hawkins first postulation of the existence of Black Holes before any emperical evidence was observed.
As for the notion of the Electric Universe, I do try to kep my mind open to new ways of thinking, but really can't embrace this concept. If somebody comes along asnd can really give it some mathematical validity, then I'll be happy to reexamine it at that time.
